WP Cricket players headline the annual CSA Awards nominations

The Western Province Cricket Association (WPCA) will once again be well represented at the annual CSA Awards, with nominees from both the men's and women's teams.
Cricket South Africa (CSA) will honour the standout performers of the 2024/25 season at its Awards function on 31 July 2025 to be held at Emperors Palace in Kempton Park, east of Johannesburg.
This year’s ceremony, which will be broadcast live on SuperSport at 7pm, will celebrate the defining moments and outstanding contributions that shaped the past season, led by players and match officials who displayed excellence on the field.
World Sports Betting (WSB) Western Province Women’s Head Coach, Claire Terblanche, has earned a well-deserved nomination for the Women’s Division 1 Coach of the Year after leading her side to another successful season - defending their T20 title in the Hollywoodbets Pro Series and securing a second-place finish in the Pro 50.
WSB Western Province men’s Kyle Verreynne and Western Province Women’s star Marizanne Kapp headline the list of WSB WP nominees, with both earning nominations in multiple categories. Verreynne enjoyed a standout season, highlighted by his full international and a superb knock of 114 off 144 balls on Day 2 of the first test against Bangladesh back in October. He has been nominated for both the Men’s test Player of the Year and the SA Fans’ Player of the Year awards.
Kapp has been nominated for Women’s T20 International Player of the Year, Women’s one-day international Player of the Year and SA Women’s Player of the Year.
Verreynne’s teammates, George Linde and Eddie Moore had a marvellous season and has caught the eye of the nomination panel as they are nominated for the CSA T20 Challenge Player of the Year.
Rising star, Kayla Reyneke and is nominated alongside stalwart Dane van Niekerk for Women’s Division 1 T20 Player of the Season.
WPCA CEO Corrie van Zyl has congratulated all the nominees, saying: “It is with pride that we congratulate those players who have been recognised by CSA for their sterling performances during the 2024/25 season.
Being recognised as nominees in the various categories are already a major achievement and we wish them all the best for the Awards. Each nominee is already a winner.”
