Lewandowski joins Mbokazi’s team

Poland’s all-time leading scorer, Robert Lewandowski, has joined South African Mbekezeli Mbokani’s Chicago Fire FC in the USA.
The Major League Soccer side have confirmed the capture of the 37-year-old star forward who has joined from Barcelona FC in the Spanish LaLiga.

Chicago FC Director of Football and head coach, Gregg Berhalter, confirmed the arrival of the former Bayern Munich superstar, who joins a squad rich in talent, including the rising Bafana Bafana player.
LEWANDOWSKI LINKS UP WITH MBOKAZI
“From the day Joe Mansueto and I met for the first time, we set out to build a world-class club that inspires greatness, unites Chicago and wins championships. Robert embodies those values and represents the standards this city deserves: a champion and a competitor,” Berhalter told the Chicago Fire FC website.
Mbokazi has captured the imagination of world football after his stellar displays for South Africa at the ongoing Fifa World Cup, and is said to be on the radar of top clubs in Europe.
The 20-year-old defender will now be sharing the dressing and the pitch with Lewandowski, who boasts 700 career goals for his national team and top European clubs.

The Polish forward has signed a contract that will run through the 2027-28 MLS season.
Lewandowski has won the Uefa Champions League, Uefa Super Cup and Fifa Club World Cup with Bayern Munich, along with 10 Bundesliga titles, four DFB-Pokal trophies and six DFL-SuperCups in Germany with Borussia Dortmund and Bayern.
The two-time Fifa World Player of the Year star won three LaLiga titles, one Copa del Rey and three Supercopas during his spell with Barcelona FC.
