After seven outings in the Motsepe Foundation Championship, Cape Town City finally recorded their first win in South Africa’s first division following a 3-2 victory over Midland Wanderers on Saturday.

On the back of three draws and three losses in their opening six matches in the MFC, City saw out a 3-2 win over Midlands Wanderers at the Harry Gwala Stadium this weekend.

With the score level at 2-2 heading into stoppage time, Therlo Moosa handed City the winner late on as the former Cape Town Spurs striker netted his first goal in blue. The Citizens are now in 13th, with six points to their name so far this season.

Elsewhere, Leicesterford City made it three wins on the spin on Friday following their 2-1 win against Highbury at the Dobsonville Stadium.

The victory saw Leicesterford City accumulate 13 points from seven matches in third place.

Also, Milford’s four-match winning streak came to an end this weekend via an eventful 3-3 draw with Upington City at the Mxolisi Dicky Stadium on Saturday.

While the aforementioned side dropped to second on the log, Casric Stars slotted into the summit of the standings after winning a 3-2 battle against Hungry Lions on Sunday.
