Age: 25

Hometown: Lady Frere, Eastern Cape

Anelisa Jaxa fell in in love with commentary in his formative years, and has been dreaming of the big stage ever since.

The announcement of the SuperSport MVP Talent Search indicated a path for him to test himself and move to a platform that would allow most of South Africa experience his talent on television.

“I wanted to showcase my talent on a different platform. I had been commentating around the Eastern Cape for a while. I wanted to showcase my skills on a bigger platform,” says Anelisa.

SIGNATURE SAYING

He reckons he has something different to offer South African football fans. He believes viewers are ready for a fresh new voice.

“I have a signature saying that I know will keep the audience glued to their screens. I am very informative and passionate about the game. I believe that I am you and I am the new blood that people might need to listen to,” he says.

The Soweto derby, like for many South Africans, has had a huge impact on Anelisa’s life. A packed FNB Stadium with sounds of the vuvuzela and singing bring happy memories to him.

“We used to watch the derby. The Soweto one, between Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs during the days of Siphiwe Tshabalala, Oupa Manyisa and Andile Jali. Those were the matches that I started watching with full concentration.

"The commentary on SuperSport made those matches incredible, there was so much information to get and the skills on the field kept us entertained. Those are definitely some of my most memorable times watching football,” he says.
